Today marks the anniversary of Théâtre Optique the first performance of a moving picture show created by Charles-Émile Reynaud. The show took place in Paris, France at the Grevin Museum on October 28, 1892 using the Praxinoscope, which was invented by Charles-Émile Reynaud in 1877.
In 2002, the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) proclaimed October 28th the International Animation Day to celebrate the art of animation around the world.
